Iconic TV star Timmy Mallett was full of praise for County Roscommon during his recent visit.
Cycling through the country’s Hidden Heartlands, Timmy described Tarmonbarry as a “delightful spot”.
“It is absolutely lovely,” he said of the village’s marina.
He also visited Ballyleague’s Access for All, meeting locals and enjoying life on the Shannon.
“I like the big skies and the colours,” he said about Lough Ree.
In South Roscommon, he also visited Drum’s St Brigid’s Well.
“Every year on Garland Sunday, the last Sunday in July, people would gather here at Drum, listening to the sound of the running water alongside us and say their prayers to St Brigid,” he said.
As part of his marathon cycle, the popular and much loved entertainer has taken in the sights and sounds of Carrick on Shannon, Athlone and Ballinasloe.
