Tributes paid after passing of Roscommon man who was former Leitrim County Registrar

Kevin Doherty, Cootehall, Boyle passed away peacefully on May 3rd in the tender care of the staff of Sligo University Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr Doherty is predeceased by his parents James and Maureen and his brother Seán, former Minister and TD.
He will be sadly missed by his adoring and devoted wife Jacinta (Jessie), his loving brother Colm (Gort), and sisters Ann (Neary), Maria (Joyce) (Ballinrobe), and Philomena (Mena), also by his sisters-in-law Maura and Rita, brothers-in-law Donal Neary, John Joyce and Kevin Connolly.

Many tributes have poured in since the passing of the former solicitor who served as County Leitrim Registrar for 26 years. He retired from the role in 2015. A county registrar has responsibility for the administration and management of the circuit court offices in each county.
One former work colleague described him as “a kind, witty and generous gentleman with a wealth of knowledge and foresight. Cootehall has lost one of its great citizens”.
