'Unique' County Roscommon café says it will not reopen in 2025
Eat Unique, located in Monksland, will not reopen in 2025.
A popular County Roscommon café — on the cusp of being 10 years in business — has said it will not reopen in 2025.
Eat Unique — located in Monksland, South Roscommon — admitted that the “time has come to down the knives and hang up our aprons.”
Created in 2015 by Nigel and Celine So, the café was renowned for its variety of healthy and super foods.
“We have been forced to make this difficult decision because of an excessive rental increase along with the uncertainty of the industry,” said the Eat Unique team in a post on Facebook.
“We would like to thank all our amazing customers for being part of our journey. Your loyalty and support have allowed us to achieve almost 10 years in business, something we are incredibly proud of.
"To our fantastic team, past and present, we want to thank you all sincerely for your hard work and dedication. It has been a roller coaster of highs and lows. Thank you for sticking with us and helping our small business achieve big things.”
