POLITICAL RACE: Fine Gael colleagues Senator Gareth Scahill and Deputy Frank Feighan contribute some metres to Boyle FRC's Spin Bike Challenge.

Earlier this morning, the Boyle Family Resource Centre launched its new fundraising campaign ‘Be Part of Our Next Chapter.’

The campaign will support the completion of the redevelopment of the centre’s Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre, which will create a welcoming, accessible and more energy-efficient space to support children, adolescents and adults in the community for many years to come.

A fundraising goal of €150,000 has been set by the Boyle FRC for the project.

Throughout the day local clubs, the community and a few special guests will contribute to the ongoing Spin Bike Challenge, where the centre has set a target goal of 150km on two bikes respectively.

Speaking at the fundraiser launch, Boyle FRC manager Monica Gaffney highlighted the importance of the FRC's therapy facility, "This isn't simply about doing up a building - last year alone we delivered over 3,100 counselling and psychotherapy sessions.

"As of June of this year we have 162 people waiting for assessment of therapy - these figures show that the need is there for this facility," she concluded.
