Roscommon farmer Bernard Donohue was among the thousands who attended today's demonstration against the EU-Mercosur rally.
Roscommon farmer Bernard Donohue said that the contentious Mercusor deal was not just an issue of concern for farmers but a health issue for consumers here and across the EU.
He said that Irish farmers had built up “50 years of the highest quality foods in the world” and he didn’t want to see that threatened by this deal.
Mr Donohue, who is also Chairperson of Elphin Mart, was among the thousands of protestors at today’s mass rally in Athlone.
