Roscommon Rose Rebecca Collins did her family, community and county proud last night as she performed in the renowned Rose of Tralee Festival.

The 24 year old Kiltoom woman wowed with her brilliant, hilarious poem about her talent section struggles and her love for County Roscommon.

The daughter of Martin and Fiona, Rebecca is a Home Economics and Religion teacher at Our Lady’s Bower, Athlone, and she has won numerous leagues and cups on the sporting field.

Tributes to Rebecca poured in following her performance, with Roscommon GAA saying she represented the county “with such warmth, pride and distinction throughout the 2026 International Rose of Tralee Festival”.

“After a poem all about not having a talent for the Rose of Tralee stage… Rebecca, we think you proved yourself very wrong! You absolutely rocked it and were a fantastic ambassador for Roscommon from beginning to end,” it said. “Rebecca, you represented the Rossies brilliantly – and we couldn’t have asked for more.”

Roscommon GAA also congratulated the overall winner, Westmeath Rose, Caoilfhinn Ní Choiligh.
