Ballaghaderreen businessman Brian Mulligan said that Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane’s revelation at a public rally that the Part 8 scheme in the town could be revised may have repercussions for similar schemes elsewhere.
During Sunday's rally, politicians and the large crowd unanimously backed Mr Mulligan’s proposal that the current public realm works should be suspended until a full revision of the plan takes place.
Mr Mulligan said this review needed to include proper consultation with the people of the town.
