Water supply is returning to customers served by the Castlerea Public Water Supply.

Water supply is returning to customers served by the Castlerea Public Water Supply following repairs carried out at Longford Springs Water Treatment Plant.

Supply has returned to customers in Castlerea town area. However, customers in Ballintubber, Trien, Kilmurray, Castleplunkett and areas on the periphery of the scheme may continue to experience intermittent outages and/or reduced pressure over the course of the day.

Uisce Éireann’s Ger Greally thanked affected customers for their co-operation.

“Uisce Éireann acknowledges the disruption that can be caused by an unplanned outage and we wish to thank customers in the area for their patience as reservoirs continue to replenish to normal levels.

“Customers may experience reduced water pressure or intermittent outages today as supply catches up with demand, but we expect full supply to be returned to all customers overnight. During this time, we are continuing to appeal to customers on this supply to conserve water,” he said.
