A burst water main is causing water woes for a few hundred households this afternoon in the Ballyleague area.
Uisce Éireann has confirmed that repairs to a burst water main are causing supply disruptions to approximately 250 customers on the Strokestown Road in Ballyleague, Ballyleague, Lanesborough and surrounding areas.
The company says that repair works are underway and expected to be completed by 7 p.m. this evening, Friday, October 10th.
"Following repairs, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
"Uisce Éireann acknowledges the inconvenience caused by unplanned outages and thanks customers for their patience and cooperation while these works are continuing. We regret any inconvenience caused," said a company spokesperson.
