Young Roscommon woman wins Galway Mayor award
Ms McCrudden is studying law at the University of Galway.
A young Roscommon was among the recipients of the Galway City Council’s Mayor’s Awards 2026.
Lisacul’s Latisha McCrudden, who is a Traveller Youth activist, won the Young Volunteer of the Year Award.
She was praised “for overcoming the barriers and battles of coming from a marginalised ethnic minority community, to being in third level college education and being a positive light for the future generation coming behind her.”
Ms McCrudden is studying law at the University of Galway.
The 10 winners of the Mayor’s Awards across a range of categories were announced recently at a ceremony in the Galmont Hotel, Galway.
