Senator Aisling Dolan set to be added today to FG General Election ticket in Roscommon-Galway

Senator Aisling Dolan.
Fine Gael HQ is expected to add Ballinasloe Senator Aisling Dolan to the party’s ticket today (Tuesday) where she will run alongside Arigna’s Dympna Daly Finn in the upcoming General Election.
Senator Dolan replaces the late councillor John Naughten, who had narrowly defeated her at a party selection convention in September.
Ms Daly Finn was automatically selected at the convention due to a stipulation that members select two candidates, representing both the northern and southern part of the constituency.
Fine Gael is expected to declare Ms Dolan’s candidancy later today, and both women will now be bidding to win one of the three seats on offer in the Roscommon-Galway constituency.
Senator Dolan ran for the party in the 2020 General Election where she polled almost five and half thousand first preference votes.
It's understood that the party had also being exploring the idea of running a three candidate strategy in the constituency.
