Castlerea boxers Aoife and Lisa O’Rourke have learned their potential path to World Championship glory at the IBA Women’s World Championships.

Lisa will be the first of the sisters to step in between the ropes as she fights in the light middleweight weight class (66-70KG). She will face an Azerbaijani opponent in her Last 16 clash on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Aoife has received a bye into the quarter finals of the middleweight division (70-75KG).

The two time Olympian will face a fighter from either Belarus or Uzbekistan in her quarter final on Thursday.

The World Championships are being held in Nis, Serbia. The tournament commenced on March 9 and finals will be held on March 16.
