Blockbuster county minor football final brewing this weekend
Dara Curran will be hoping to round off a successful year with a county final triumph in the colours of Castlerea St. Kevin's on Saturday.
One of the most eagerly-anticipated underage finals of the year takes place at St. Croan’s GAA grounds, Enfield, on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m..
Castlerea St. Kevin’s and Pádraig Pearses meet in the Connacht Gold Minor Division One Football Championship final.
It’s a huge weekend for Pearses, with its senior team meeting St. Brigid’s in the county senior football decider 24 hours later.
Meanwhile, Castlerea St. Kevin’s, under the management of Noel Curran, will be trying to retain the title they won last year.
Both sides are sprinkled with a host of intercounty talent in a year that Roscommon were crowned Connacht minor football champions for the first time since 2020 and went on to reach the All-Ireland semi-final against Tyrone.
Dara Curran lifted the Tom Kilcoyne Cup as Roscommon captain, while his Castlerea St. Kevin’s team-mate Seán Vaughan was also part of the panel.
Pádraig Pearses forward, John Price, won the Player of the Match award following that dramatic 2-14 to 1-15 victory against Mayo in the Connacht final at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, Castlebar.
Jack Brooks, Michael Brooks, and Enda Browne were also part of Shane Moran’s panel.
