Businesses in Roscommon Town are set for a bumper June Bank Holiday weekend following confirmation that King and Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park will stage two big GAA games inside 24 hours.

The GAA has confirmed that the Tailteann Cup game between Sligo and Kildare has been fixed for the home of Roscommon GAA on Sunday, June 1st, at 2 p.m..

On Saturday week, May 31st, the Roscommon senior footballers meet Meath in the Hyde as Davy Burke's men look for lift-off in this year's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship.

On Tuesday afternoon, the GAA confirmed that the throw-in time for that game will be 6 p.m..

Between the two games, up to 10,000 supporters are expected to converge on Roscommon Town, which will be a huge boost to the local economy.

It has also been confirmed that the Roscommon senior hurlers will play Mayo in the Nickey Rackard Cup final in Croke Park on Saturday, May 31st.

The throw-in time has been brought forward to 1 p.m. to allow supporters of both teams attend their respective counties' All-Ireland SFC matches later that evening.
