Roscommon U-20 football manager, Noel Dunning, has named his team for tomorrow (Wednesday) evening’s opening game in this year’s Connacht U-20 Football Championship against Mayo at Dr. Hyde Park (throw-in at 5.30 p.m.).
Bobby Nugent, who was a key forward on the St. Brigid’s team that reached the All-Ireland club senior football final in January, captains the team from full-forward.
There’s plenty of attacking intent in the form of Shane McGinley and Robert Heneghan, while Conor Ryan and Shane Walsh are the preferred midfield duo.
Senan Lambe, who played for the Roscommon senior footballers in the FBD earlier this year, anchors the defence, alongside Daniel Casey from Boyle who played in last season’s county senior football final.
There’s a strong bench too with Rory Carthy, Niall O’Donnell, Conor Harley and Eden Kerins among the match-day 24.
Ethan O’Reilly (Roscommon Gaels) and Colm Neary (Strokestown) weren’t considered because of injury.
