Roscommon have been confirmed as third seeds when the draw for the group stages of All-Ireland Series takes place on Wednesday.

Davy Burke’s men will be in Pot 3 alongside Tyrone, Monaghan and Dublin, who suffered a shock defeat against Meath on Sunday, ending their 43-game winning record in Leinster since 2011.

The Rossies will be away to one of four provincial champions in the first round. If it’s the Connacht or Munster champions, that game will take place on the weekend of May 17th/18th. If it’s the Leinster or Ulster champions, Roscommon will be in action a week later (weekend of May 24th/25th).

Roscommon will host a beaten provincial finalist in their second game at King and Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park before playing a fourth seed — Derry, Cork, Cavan or Down — at a neutral venue.

The draw is scheduled to take place on the GAA’s YouTube channel at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

It’s an open draw, so Roscommon will be permitted to play Galway if they are drawn together, despite being soundly beaten by the Tribesmen in the Connacht semi-final a few weeks ago.

Three teams will, once again, emerge from each group for the knock-out stages.
