A former Roscommon club manager has been appointed manager of Caulry who reached last season’s Westmeath senior football semi-final for the first time since 1946.
Pat Flanagan, who led Pádraig Pearses to the club’s maiden Connacht club football title in 2021, takes over from former Roscommon goalkeeper, Shane Curran, who was in charge of the Mount Temple/Baylin outfit for the past three years.
After departing Pearses at the end of the 2022 season, Flanagan spent the last 12 months with Sarsfields in Kildare. Now, the vastly experienced manager, who also had spells in charge of his native Offaly and Sligo, will be hoping to bring Caulry into uncharted territory in 2024.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Pat Flanagan as our senior football manager for the 2024 season. Pat comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience and we are excited to welcome him into our club.
"His management team will be confirmed at a later stage. We wish Pat the very best of luck,” said Caulry GAA Club in a statement.
Apart from winning the Connacht club title with Pearses, Flanagan guided the Woodmount-based club to its first Roscommon senior football title in 2019 before adding a second Fahey Cup crown in 2021.
