Meanwhile, the Roscommon senior hurlers have earned a stay of execution in the Christy Ring Cup following New York's Nickey Rackard Cup success on Saturday.
Roscommon finished bottom of the table after the group games of the Christy Ring Cup, but New York's success against Tyrone means that Brian Hanley's side will remain in the third tier of championship hurling for 2027.
Completing a good weekend for Roscommon hurling, Saturday's Christy Ring Cup final between Derry and Kerry in Croke Park was refereed by Oran native Matthew Farrell.
