The GAA has confirmed that King and Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park will host this year's Connacht senior football final.

The big game between Roscommon and Galway will take place on Sunday week, May 10th, at 4.15 p.m..

It will be the Rossies' first provincial final on home turf since 2018 when Galway prevailed by 0-16 to 2-6.

The Hyde has undergone a series of remedial works in recent years, bringing the ground's capacity up to 22,000.

In 2024, it hosted Mayo and Dublin in the group stages of the All-Ireland Series, while last year, Donegal and Mayo brought a huge crowd to the Roscommon Town venue.

A huge Roscommon crowd is expected as the Rossies, on the back of their terrific performance against Mayo, will aim to stop Pádraic Joyce's side from completing five-in-a-row.

However, it's 36 years since the last Roscommon championship victory over Galway in the Hyde when Eamon 'Junior' McManus inspired the Rossies to their first provincial crown in ten years with a 0-16 to 1-11 victory in 1990.

Fergal O'Donnell was the last Roscommon captain to lift the Nestor Cup in the Hyde following Gerry Lohan's injury-time goal in the 2001 decider against Mayo.

It promises to be a bumper weekend for Roscommon supporters, with the county minor footballers playing Galway or Sligo in their Connacht final on Friday, May 8th.

On this Wednesday, the Roscommon U-20 footballers play Mayo in their provincial decider in Tuam Stadium at 7 p.m..
