The Roscommon senior men's and intermediate ladies' football teams have been rocked by injuries to key players this week.

Ben O'Carroll didn't line out for UCD in this evening's Sigerson Cup final against University of Ulster at Austin Stack Park, Tralee.

While the extent of the St. Brigid's player's injury remains unclear, he isn't expected to feature for Roscommon in their upcoming league games in Division One, starting with Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday next.

Meanwhile, the Roscommon intermediate ladies' football team are also facing a spell without one of their marquee forwards following confirmation that Aisling Feely will be out of action for some time as a result of a serious knee injury.

The Boyle player had kicked 0-9 in Roscommon's first two games against Down and Louth, and landed another two superb points against Clare on Sunday last before suffering the nasty injury in the early stages of the second half at Cusack Park, Ennis.

Feely is scheduled to undergo a MRI scan this week, but the expectation is that she will be missing for at least two months, which is a huge blow to Roscommon's promotion push from Division Three
