Key Kerry defender to miss opening league game against Roscommon

One of Kerry’s key defenders will be missing for the Kingdom’s opening Division One League game against Roscommon at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, on Sunday, January 25th.
Gavin White — the man who lifted the Sam Maguire Cup in July after a Player of the Match performance in the All-Ireland final against Donegal — has undergone surgery on an injured ankle, according to
White picked up the ankle injury playing with Dr. Crokes in the East Kerry SFC semi-final against Spa in mid-November.
The 2025 Kerry captain enjoyed a stellar season in Jack O’Connor’s half-back line, culminating in a terrific performance against Donegal in July to complete a league and championship double for the Kingdom.
