Roscommon supporters will be hoping that a couple of lucky omens might help their team overcome Cavan and prolong their interest in this year’s All-Ireland SFC on Saturday evening next.
When the Rossies last tackled Cavan in the championship on July 4th, 2015, the team, managed by John Evans, prevailed by 3-17 to 1-16 at Breffni Park.
That game was played on a Saturday evening at 5 p.m., the same day and time next weekend’s clash is scheduled to take place at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
What’s more, the game was refereed by David Gough, and the Meath man will take charge of next Saturday evening’s latest instalment between two proud footballing counties.
Lucky omens? Let’s hope so.
