Mixed evening for Roscommon footballers in Sigerson Cup action

After the Sigerson Cup quarter finals last night, Roscommon players and their respective teams are now just one win away from lining out in Croke Park.
There was strong Roscommon involvement in the clash between University of Galway and UCD, which the Galway university won by a point, 0-15 to 0-14.
For the University of Galway Pádraig Pearses’ Eoin Colleran kicked 0-3, which included a two-pointer, while his clubmate Conor Harley and Western Gaels' Rory Hester are also in the panel.
Ben O’Carroll registered four points, three from play, in UCD’s narrow defeat while his St. Brigid’s clubmate Bobby Nugent came off the bench to kick a point.
Cillian Campbell of St. Barry’s was part of the University of Limerick (UL) squad that overcame a Maynooth University side, who had Darragh O’Beirne (Shannon Gaels) in their ranks, 3-16 to 0-17 in a dramatic contest that required extra time.
Meanwhile, Eoin Ward (Fuerty) and Pádraig Pearses’ Jack Tumulty were part of the DCU team that lost out to UCC by 3-16 to 1-20.
The Sigerson Cup semi finals will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday with the final scheduled to be held in Croke Park on Wednesday, February 11.
