Quarter-Final draw made for Roscommon Senior Football Championship

A repeat of last year’s quarter-final meeting between defending champions St. Brigid’s and Roscommon Gaels is the pick of the games from Sunday afternoon’s Hodson Bay Group SFC quarter-final draw, which took place in Strokestown.
Twelve months ago, St. Brigid’s cantered to a 1-18 to 1-7 victory over Roscommon Gaels, and it remains to be seen if the Gaels can bridge the gap in a couple of weeks’ time.
Earlier on Sunday, Decie Hoare’s side became the eighth team in the draw with a comfortable 2-11 to 0-4 victory against North Roscommon.
Despite goals by John McManus and Cian Connolly, there is plenty of room for improvement for a Gaels side that only pulled away from their limited opponents in the last ten minutes.
Oran’s meeting against Boyle will be a repeat of last year’s group game in Ballinameen, which Boyle won by seven points.
Pádraig Pearses will be warm favourites against Michael Glaveys, while the meeting of Strokestown and Castlerea St. Kevin’s will be the clash of two provincial intermediate champions from 2023 and 2025.
St. Brigid’s and Pádraig Pearses have been kept apart in the semi-final draw, meaning a repeat of last year’s county final, which went to a replay, is still possible.
