Clann na nGael GAA Club is going to the movies with Braveheart alongside five other productions.

A County Roscommon GAA Club is going to the movies for its latest fundraiser.

Clann na nGael GAA Club will roll out the red carpet for its Movie Awards fundraiser as six classic film/television productions — featuring players and club members, which will be filmed in the coming weeks — will get their own Premiere at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone, on Saturday, November 2nd.

Door open at 7 p.m. for the live show at 8 p.m..

Tickets for what locals are describing as a “must see” event cost €50, while those involved in all six productions have organised a number of fundraisers in the locality.

“We’ve always had good actors in Clann na nGael who have never been afraid to shine on the big stage,” one well-placed local source told the Roscommon Herald.

The productions being filmed are (directors in brackets):

Braveheart (Declan O’Flaherty)

Derry Girls (Emer Timlin)

Killinaskully (Mike Keena)

Fr Ted (Dylan Earle)

The Snapper (Paul Curley)

The Hangover (Bernie Naughton and Jonathan Dunning).

All proceeds from the Movie Awards fundraiser will go to the Clann na nGael Development Fund.
