Roscommon’s ladies’ footballers have discovered their opponents in the All Ireland series.
Following their defeat to Leitrim in the Connacht Intermediate final, Roscommon were placed in a group alongside the Ulster champions and a defeated Ulster semi finalist.
Roscommon will now be in the same group as Cavan, who defeated Monaghan 4-13 to 1-20 after extra time in the Ulster final. Cavan earned promoted to Division One of the league for the very first time this Spring while their Ulster final success further highlights how tough a challenge they will be in the group stage.
Down, who were defeated by Monaghan in their Ulster semi final, are also in Group 1 alongside Roscommon and Cavan.
The three teams will battle for a top two place and a quarter final berth.
Home advantage for the quarter-finals will be granted to the teams that finish on top of their respective groups, with a draw to take place following the conclusion of the group stages.
The bottom placed side will enter the relegation play offs.
The opening round of the Intermediate Championship will take place on Sunday May 31. The second round will be played on Sunday, June 7 while the group stages will conclude the following Sunday (June 14).
The quarter finals are scheduled for June 28 while the semi final is set to be played on Sunday, July 12.
The final is down for decision on Sunday, August 2.
