Roscommon are likely to be without a number of key players for their opening Allianz Division One League game against Tyrone on Sunday week.
All-Star Enda Smith will serve his one-match suspension after being sent off during the dying embers of the preliminary All-Ireland quarter-final against Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh last June.
Last year’s vice-captain, Tadhg O’Rourke, has recovered from an Achilles injury and returned to full training this week, but the trip to Omagh will come too soon for the Tulsk midfielder.
Ultan Harney is still a month away from any possible action, while the appearance of the county’s St. Brigid’s contingent in Sunday’s All-Ireland club senior football final against Glen means that it’s unlikely they will be back for the trip to the Red Hand County.
