Roscommon men aim for Poc Fada success

Connacht Poc Fada champion Noel Fallon, Four Roads, will be hoping to secure further silverware today.
Noel Fallon and Colm Fitzgerald will be aiming to help Roscommon strike gold at the 2024 M. Donnelly All-Ireland Poc Fada Finals today.
Fallon, who represents Four Roads and St. Dominic’s Fitzgerald will compete against top national opposition in Louth.
A total of 26 players (senior men, senior women, U-16 boys, U-16 girls) will return to the Annaverna mountain this Bank Holiday Monday, for what should be another keenly contested event.
The senior men’s Poc Fada could be one of the most competitive in the history of the competition, with four former winners all vying against one another.
Kerry hurler Fionán Mackessy is the reigning champion. Kilkenny’s Killian Phelan won in 2022, former Limerick hurler Colin Ryan claimed the spoils in 2021, and Offaly hurler Cillian Kiely was back-to-back champion in 2018 and 2019.
Also in the mix as a sponsor’s picks will be All Ireland winning Clare hurlers, Peter Duggan, who finished third in last year’s competition, and David Fitzgerald.
Meranwhile, in the U-16 category Fitzgerald will compete against Connor Delaney (Ulster Champion), Leinster winner Tony Mahony and Munster’s representative Matthew O’Sullivan.
