There were more strong performances from Roscommon players in Round 2 of the Sigerson Cup last night.

Daire Cregg continued his fine form with another standout performance in UCD’s 1-11 to 1-10 victory over DCU.

The Boyle player kicked six points, including the winning point from a mark in the 57th minute.

Cregg’s UCD and Roscommon teammate Ben O’Carroll made his impact felt off the bench, setting up Theo Clancy’s second half goal.

Pádraig Pearses forward Jack Tumulty made a cameo appearance late on off the bench for DCU.

Ruadhrí Fallon of St. Brigid’s kicked 1-1 from centre-back in University of Galway’s 4-15 to 0-4 drubbing of Queen’s University Belfast.

In the other games last night Pádraig Pearses player Declan Kenny lined out at centre-back in TUS Midland’s victory over MTU Cork and Michael Glaveys player Darragh Heneghan started in UL’s one point defeat to Sigerson Cup holders Ulster University.

Round Three sees University of Limerick play host to University of Galway and MTU Cork face MTU Kerry on Tuesday, January 21st. 

The following day Maynooth play St Mary’s while DCU DE host ATU Sligo.
