A number of players from County Roscommon have been part of successful third-level colleges' teams this week.

Niall O’Donnell from Boyle and Cillian Campbell from St. Barry’s were part of the University of Limerick team that edged out Dundalk IT in the All-Ireland Fresher B football final.

O’Donnell was the top scorer during his side’s successful campaign and contributed 0-4 (one free, one ’45) to his side’s narrow 1-10 to 1-9 victory in the decider. Campbell also pitched in with a point from wing-back.

Meanwhile, Cathal Guckian from St. Michael’s was part of the DCU panel that were crowned All-Ireland junior champions following their 0-16 to 1-12, after extra time, against UL on Wednesday evening.

Guckian plied his trade at midfield on the successful St. Michael’s team that won last year’s Roscommon Junior A Football Championship.
