Roscommon referee takes charge of first inter county league game
Ian Monaghan took charge of Tipperary's clash with Antrim in Division Four.
A Roscommon referee officiated his first inter county league game on Sunday last.
Ian Monaghan was the man in charge as Tipperary and Antrim met in the second round of the Division Four league.
The St. Brigid’s clubman officiated the game, which was held in Moneygall after FBD Semple Stadium was deemed unplayable earlier in the week.
Tipperary secured a 1-13 to 1-9 victory over an Antrim side who are managed by Mark Doran, with the Slaughtneil man part of the Roscommon backroom team in 2025.
Monaghan is no stranger to big days. He was a sideline official for last year’s Division One league final between Kerry and Mayo.
