Abbey Community College Boyle were crowned Connacht Juvenile B champions as they beat St. Muredach’s College 3-16 to 3-15 in a thrilling final that required extra time to separate the sides.

For this group, it is a second successive Connacht title after claiming the First Year crown in 2025.

This year’s success is even sweeter as it was the school’s first time competing at B level in their 24 year history.

Oisín Carty finished as A.C.C’s top scorer with an impressive tally of 1-8, while Ronan Moore, who was the only first year student on the panel, struck two crucial goals. Callum Gavican contributed an impressive five points, while Fintan McKeon and Rory O’Shaughnessy also added valuable scores.

The Boyle school led 2-9 to 1-2 at half time having played with a strong breeze. Ronan Moore and Oisín Carty buried the opening half goals for their side.

With the aid of the wind in the second half, St. Muredach’s mounted a serious comeback and gradually reduced the deficit through a series of well-taken scores and goals.

However, every time momentum threatened to swing completely, A.C.C responded impressively. Rory O’Shaughnessy, Fintan McKeon, Oisín Carty and Callum Gavican all contributed crucial scores during a tense second period.

St. Muredach’s continued to battle right to the final whistle and managed to level the game at 2-14 to 3-11, forcing the Connacht final to extra time.

The contest continued at a frantic pace in extra time despite tiring conditions. St. Muredach’s again started strongly, but A.C.C responded impressively when Ronan Moore grabbed another vital goal, while Oisín Carty and Callum Gavican added important scores to help Abbey Community College claim an unforgettable triumph.
