One of County Roscommon’s most talented forwards is set to undergo surgery.
The
understands that Ben O’Carroll is due to have an operation on a troublesome groin/hip problem that has kept him out of action for the bulk of this season.It is expected that O’Carroll will be out for a number of weeks after the operation, meaning that he faces a race against time to play any part in St. Brigid’s defence of the Fahey Cup.
After lining out in the All-Ireland club senior football championship semi-final and final for St. Brigid's in January, O’Carroll only featured twice for the Rossies this season — against Mayo in the Connacht semi-final and Dublin in the All-Ireland Series.
