Roscommon woman captains college to All Ireland title

A Roscommon player has captained her college to All Ireland glory.
St. Dominic’s Hannah Murray captained UL to the Lagan Cup as they came through an extra time thriller against TUS Midwest.
Ciara Dowd of St. Ciaran’s was also crucial to UL’s success. The full forward kicked the levelling free to send the contest to extra time.
Dowd was presented with the Player of the Match award after the contest.
The UL team were managed by Meath's double All Ireland winner and All Star Mary Kate Lynch.
Meanwhile, there was also Roscommon involvement in the AIG HEC Cup final.
Shannon Gaels' Sarah Boyd received the Player of the Match award as she helped DCU defeat UU Coleraine.
Oran’s Niamh Walsh netted the first goal of the O’Connor Cup weekend for DCU while Shannon Gaels' Aisling Ryan was also part of the victorious side.
