Róisín Wynne led Boyle to their second ever county senior LGFA title on Saturday evening.

Boyle LGFA captain Róisín Wynne was ecstatic after helping her club claim their second ever John Keane Kia county senior title.

She told the Roscommon Herald after her side’s 2-18 to 2-9 win over Clann na nGael that her belief never wavered that her charges were capable of adding to their inaugural title in 2023.

“I am just absolutely delighted. I had such belief in the girls, so I am delighted that we got it over the line. It was a tough game and it was looking pretty rocky at half time but we just kept sticking to our game plan and we got it over the line.”

Wynne held special praise for the younger players on a day when All Ireland U-16 winner Katie Conroy caught the eye in particular.

“The young girls are so phenomenal. All year they have been so phenomenal. Normally the younger girls need that extra supporting arm around them, which we do give them but honestly they don’t need it.

"They are so mature and they want it so much. They have such a great attitude. I could rave about those young girls all day. They have the talent and the attitude just to take them anywhere they want.”
