St. Brigid’s goalkeeper Conor Carroll has expressed his delight in helping the Kiltoom based side secure their 19th county title.
Carroll produced three key saves in this afternoon's county final replay against Pádraig Pearses as his second stop from Hubert Darcy proved the game's defining moment.
St. Brigid’s tagged on the next five points after that save as they kicked 0-7 without reply in the second quarter to lay the platform for this win.
Carroll told the Roscommon Herald that he relied on his instincts when pulling off those key saves.
“It is just instinct. If you overthink it you are in bother so whatever happens in the moment happens. You have the work done and you need a bit of luck. There is a bit of luck involved as well because some days they will stay out and other days they won’t. Thankfully today was one of the days they stayed out.
