St. Brigid’s centre forward Conor Hand has praised his side’s defence after their thrilling 1-25 to 2-16 win over Pádraig Pearses in the Hodson Bay Group county senior football final.
The Player of the Match felt the platform for this victory was built off his side’s defensive tenacity while he insists that this group of players will enjoy retaining the Fahey Cup for the first time since 2017.
“We know that if we play well, it comes from defence. We had three or four diving blocks today, that is as good as a score or a goal. We credit ourselves on that and if we get that on the back, going forward then it will click.”
“We will celebrate it tonight and the next couple of days. We will be back on the pitch during the week to get ready for the next game but that is not the focus for the next few hours.”
