St. Dominic’s captain Niamh Watson told the Roscommon Herald that her overriding emotion was relief following her side’s 1-7 to 2-3 county final victory over Oran this afternoon.
Watson was tremendous for the winners today as she deservedly scooped the Player of the Match award following an all action display.
Watson was full of praise for her side’s ability to bounce back after two final defeats on the bounce.
“We are over the moon today. We have lost the last two county finals and four of the last seven. Just mentally to get over the line today gives us huge relief. Relief is the main word.
“The girls were unbelievable today. We lost the football semi final two weeks ago, two county finals lost and four (county final) losses in the last seven years. To get over the line is unbelievable,” she said.
