Local Community Games team crowned All-Ireland chess champions
All-Ireland champions: The U-13 Drum/Clonown/Monksland chess team that took home the gold medal at the Community Games National Finals on Saturday.
There are big celebrations in South Roscommon as the U-13 Drum/Clonown/Monksland Community Games chess team brought home the gold medal on Saturday at the national finals in Kilkenny.
Their U-16 chess team won a bronze medal in their age group.
Roscommon is being represented by sixty-four children from sixteen areas throughout the county this weekend at the second round of the Cairn Community Games National Finals.
The finals takes place on Saturday and Sunday.
