Roscommon boxer targets medal upgrade in European semi-final

A County Roscommon boxer will be hoping to upgrade her bronze medal to silver at the European U-23 Boxing Championships this afternoon (Thursday).
Lisa O'Rourke fights Barbara Marcinkowska from Poland in the semi-final of the 70kg weight division in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The Castlerea boxer will involved in the ninth bout in Ring B when the action gets underway at 12 noon (Irish time).
O'Rourke, younger sister of Olympian and European champion Aoife, won her quarter-final bout convincingly against Anastasija Lukajic on Tuesday.
She rose to stardom by becoming world boxing champion in the light middleweight division in 2022, but her career has been interrupted by injury since then.
