Roscommon Herald photographer nominated for Local Ireland Media award
Gerard O'Loughlin's photograph entitled "My Cup", taken at last year's Roscommon senior camogie final, has been nominated for a Local Ireland Media award.
photographer, Gerard O’Loughlin, has been nominated for a Local Ireland Media award at the annual awards night in the Mullingar Park Hotel this evening (Thursday, September 19th).
Gerard’s photograph “My Cup” is one of three nominations in the Best Photograph category.
The photograph shows Athleague camogie supporter, Jessie McDermott, making a beeline for the Bank of Ireland Cup moments before the presentation in the aftermath of the 2023 Roscommon Senior Camogie Championship final, which Athleague won by 1-9 to 1-6 in Ballyforan.
Deputy Editor, Richard Canny, has also been nominated in the Best Diversity Journalist category.
This is the ninth edition of the awards, which are sponsored by the National Lottery.
