Roscommon player Saoirse Wynne has been announced as one of the three nominees for the TG4 Intermediate Players’ Player of the year award.

Saoirse will compete for the honour alongside Eimear Smyth of Fermanagh and Westmeath's Anna Jones.

It’s been a great year for the Boyle defender who was deservedly awarded Player of the Match in Roscommon's All-Ireland IFC Final victory against Fermanagh in August.

The Roscommon centre-back was named PwC GPA Women’s Player of the Month for August.

More awards could be added to the cabinet when she and her Boyle colleagues take on Clann na nGael in this year's Roscommon LGFA Senior Championship Final.
