Roscommon Racecourse’s reputation as one of the best tracks in Ireland was enhanced earlier this week when it was recognised at the Irish Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards in County Kildare.

The Lenabane track scooped the ITIEA Racecourse award, which was chosen by the Irish Stable Staff Association based on a quality programme evaluation.

Members of the local committee were in attendance on the night where they picked up the prize of €2,500, which will be spent upgrading facilities that will benefit stable employees.

At the awards, it was recognised that Roscommon Racecourse continued “to shine as one of Ireland’s best-loved tracks”.

It was also highlighted that the venue was renowned for its “welcoming atmosphere, excellent facilities and strong community links”.

The survey by the Irish Stable Staff Association evaluated each racecourse on a range of criteria relating to facilities for stable staff with the purpose of setting quality standards at all racecourse in Ireland.
