Former Boyle Celtic player, Alfonso Barrios Sanchez, has signed for FAI National League side Mayo FC.
Former Boyle Celtic player, Alfonso Barrios Sanchez, has signed for FAI National League side Mayo FC.
Barrios Sanchez was born in Venezuela but moved to Spain as a youngster.
A winger, he spent the 2025-2026 season at Celtic Park and put in a string of impressive performances, culminating in Barrios Sanchez scoring the two goals in the North Roscommon outfit's victory over Glen Celtic in the RDFL Division Cup final in Lecarrow.
Mayo FC are one of 15 teams to enter the inaugural National League. The teams are divided into three groups of five, playing home and away matches.
The three group winners advance to the National League semi-finals, with the fourth spot reserved for the best-placed group runner-up.
The winners from the semi-finals ties will face off in the National League final in November.
