The semi-finals of the Joe’s Bar sponsored Roscommon and District League Challenge Cip are down for decision in the League grounds, Lecarrow, on Sunday next.
The first game sees Premier Division side Moore United play Division Two outfit, Cloonfad United, at 11 a.m.. Moore United were beaten 1-0 in last season’s final by Castlerea Celtic and they will be hoping for a better outcome on this occasion,
Cloonfad United will feel that they were unlucky not to reach last season’s final. This season, they have already beaten Premier Division outfit, St. John’s Athletic, in the previous round.
The other semi-final features Premier Division sides Shiven Rovers and CP Ajax at 3 p.m.. Newbridge-based side Shiven Rovers have beaten Ballinasloe Town and Moylough ‘79 to reach the semi-final, while CP Ajax beat Skyvalley Rovers and Castlerea Celtic to reach the last four.
Shiven Rovers won the cup two years ago. They have beaten and drawn their last two games against CP Ajax.
Two very good games are expected as the Roscommon and District League soccer season draws to a close.
