Cloonfad maintain unbeaten start to season

The Skyvalley Rovers team and management that were beaten 4-2 by Roscommon United at Onagh Park, Taughmaconnell.
Cloonfad United maintained their unbeaten record in Division One North of the Roscommon and District League following a hard-earned 2-1 victory against Ballymoe FC.
Daithí Gannon gave Cloonfad United a 1-0 lead after 15 minutes but Damien Goggins levelled the game seven minutes later. Cloonfad missed from the penalty spot after 39 minutes but they did take the lead again through Jack Reinhardt after 68 minutes. Ballymoe went all out for an equaliser but they were guilty of some terrible misses and they ultimately paid the price as Cloonfad took all three points.
Ballinagare/Manor United recorded an impressive 7-1 win over Dunmore Town at Ballinagare. Gerry Ward scored four, while Alan Keane, Jason McCarthy and Aaron Dowd added one each.
Glen Celtic beat Ballaghaderreen 2-1 at Ballaghaderreen. The visitors came from behind with Josh Gemmell levelling the game. Ryan McHugh headed a corner kick to the net to win all three points for Glen Celtic.
Skyvalley Rovers and Roscommon United were involved in a six-goal thriller at Onagh Park, Taughmaconnell. The game was finely balanced until the closing tem minutes when Skyvalley Rovers scored two goals to give them a 4-2 win.
Skyvalley Rovers were awarded a penalty kick following a handball after 27 minutes, which Ethan Nkololo converted. Ten minutes later, Patryk Piptrzale levelled the game with a good volley.
With four minutes left to play in the first half, Danny Lynch volleyed to the Roscommon United net following good work by Ethan Nkololo.
The visitors levelled the game after 62 minutes when Connie Regan got on the end of a Daz Mainwaring free kick. Both teams had chances before Keelan Galvin headed a Darragh Moore cross to the Roscommon United net with ten minutes remaining. With the visitors pushing forward, Jack Moore added a fourth for the winners.
In their first game of the season, Rahara Rovers drew 0-0 with Moylough ‘79 in a game played at Rahara. While Rahara created the better chances, they just could not break down a good Moylough defence that have yet to concede a goal in their three opening games Their goalkeeper Thomas Shaughnessy has played a big part in that achievement.
In the Women’s League, Boyle Celtic registered a 4-2 win away to Kilkerrin United. Maeve Brogan and Leah McCawley scored two each for the winners. Ciara Boyle and Samantha Fahy replied for Kilkerrin United.
Cam Celtic beat Castlerea Celtic 7-1 at Cam. Marian Nolan scored four goals, while Aimee O’Connor, Aoife Coyle and Katie McDonnell also hit the net for Cam Celtic.
Shiven Rovers defeated Ballinasloe Town 4-0 at Newbridge. Sarah Gavin opened the scoring after 15 minutes with a well-struck free kick. Lucy Dunican added a second before half time. Sophie Trayers and Sarah Gavin added two more in the last five minutes of the game.
