Aoife O'Rourke won gold at today's World Boxing Championships in Liverpool.
It was an incredible moment for Roscommon boxer Aoife O'Rourke when she was declared the 75kg world champion at the IABA World Boxing Championships in Liverpool today.
The gold medal winning performance against Turkish opponent Busra Isildar marks the 28-year-old Tarmon native's finest achievement to date in an already impressive boxing career.
The new world champion returns home tomorrow, Monday, and is due to arrive at Dublin Airport with the rest of the Irish team at about 6.30 p.m..
