The forecaster said Thursday will be a very warm or hot day with lots of high summer sunshine.
Coastal fog may drift onto some northern coasts, though with the chance of the odd sharp shower later.
Top temperatures of 24 to 29 or 30 degrees with just light northeast or variable breezes
Looking ahead, Met Éireann said it will continue to be mostly dry, warm and sunny with temperatures in the mid to high twenties in most areas.
However, a change to a northerly airflow this weekend means that northern areas will be cooler.
Most areas will be dry, sunny, and warm or very warm on Friday, with temperatures reaching 23 to 28 degrees.
Some cloud will affect the north and northwest, keeping the highest temperatures here around 17 to 20 degrees, in a light to moderate northerly wind.
Looking to the weekend, Saturday will be dry, warm, and sunny, with the sunshine turning hazy from the north through the day
Temperatures will generally reach 22 to 26 degrees in Munster and Leinster.
Not as warm in Ulster and Connacht, though, with highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees due to a light to moderate northerly breeze and some cloud at times.
It will be a cooler day on Sunday and mostly sunny apart from some cloud near the northern coasts. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees, cooler again near northern and northwestern coasts, in a light northerly breeze.
