Ballaghaderreen man Conor O'Connell is an award winning artist.

An exhibition by artist Conor O'Connell celebrating one of the richest and most diverse archaeological and ecological sites in the country will form part of the Boyle Arts Festival.

Conor O’Connell’s exhibition on Lough Gara Past and Present, an exhibition of art and artefacts featuring the painting of O’Connell will run at Kearney’s Meat Shop, Main Street, Boyle from July 17th to 24th.

Lough Gara boasts archaeological material dating back to the Early Mesolithic (9,000 years ago) and is perhaps best known for its density of crannog sites, incomparable with anywhere in Europe.

The exhibition will feature artefacts, documents and audio and video pieces relating to Lough Gara, as well as Conor's own painted works responding to the lake and its surroundings.
