Festive events especially for children at The Dock

Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer will be making an appearance at The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon.
The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon has lined up a number of festive events for children throughout the month of December.
The first of these will take place on Monday, December 4th. “Christmas Crackers”, presented by the Custard Pie puppet theatre is especially for young school children aged from 4 to 10 years. It is a cabaret style show and features Sant’s helpers Dong & Ding, Frosty the Snowman and of course Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and many more - all wrapped up with seasonal capers, laughs and sing-a-long fun.
Custard Pie Puppets performs colourful original shows specifically tailored for young audiences and its ethos is built around audience participation, comedy and promoting a shared experience for everyone. Two shows on Monday, December 4th are suitable for children aged 4 to 10 years. Admission for school children in €8, and school teachers who attend with their groups go free of charge.
Later that same week, on Thursday, December 7th and Friday, December 8th Centre Stage at The Dock present “Little Miss Muffet’s Christmas Adventure”. Little Miss Muffet has a magic tuffet, which makes a dream come true, every Christmas Day. But Ditzi Devilola the Dim Witch wants it! When the stool is stolen, poor Miss Muffet is in great distress - but help is at hand, from a Handsome Prince, Jack and Jill and a very surprising ally! With loads of audience participation, Little Miss Muffet's Christmas Adventure is in the very best traditions of Christmas Entertainment.
Taking place over two days, with two shows each day at 10 a.m. and 11.45 a.m., tickets cost €10 per school child and there is no charge for accompanying teachers. The duration is 70 minutes and is suitable for children aged 5 -10 years of age.

Keep an eye out for details about a new Winter Festival for children and young people taking place at The Dock in December. The first Winter Wishes - Words for Winter, three-day festival of poetry and storytelling for young people, will take place from December 14-16th December.
